"When you don't run a site rooted in ecommerce, price for hosting is always an problem. My past experiences with budget hosting had not been pleasant. Downtime, latency, lack of communication, skimpy cpanel, no chance of the company's longevity - in so many cases, you get what you pay for. "I started using mjz with a basic account for myself, to host about 20 sites. I was setup and ready to go within minutes of signing up. The account and all the features I needed worked out of the box. The service was very fast and as far as I know 100% up time the entire time I was with them. I added a couple of extra features and had a couple of support requests that were taken care of with great speed.

After a couple of months I needed to expand to a reseller account (500GB of BW and 50GB of space). I had space with MJZ and with another provider, MJZ's quote for this was better then the competitors and he responded with it within 10 minutes, my choice with who to go with was clear.

I upgraded the account and began adding accounts. I was offering a free service, so I added 250 accounts very quickly, then I expanded to over 1250. Even though this was using a lot of server resources, MJZ worked with me, arranging clients so everyone had the best possible service. He never complained about the unorthodox use of the account, and he was happy to work with me to keep everyone happy.

He offered quick responses to the questions I had for him on behalf of my clients and allowed me to focus on expanding my business without dealing with the technical problems. At one point I had to restore a backup of an Account which turned out to be as easy as sending an email.

The service really shined when I had decided to move my business to a dedicated server. He completely understood that it was time for me to move on and was extremely gracious with the move. He transferred over 1250 accounts for me, even though he had nothing more to gain from me. He helped me get the new server setup the way his was, and get everything configured.

In conclusion:
I had no complaints about the service I received. I received everything I paid for. The support was quick and top notch. The server was fast, had plenty of room on it, and the bandwidth was super quick. Accounts were backed up (weekly), and I was able to get restores. I have recommended him to other people and will do so in the future."

"First Impression
When I first signed up last September I had just cancelled my last account and reviewed it here. I used the Host Quote feature here to get some ideas. My email from Matt seemed to be handwritten as opposed to most of the emails I got which looked a bit canned. I didn't find many reviews here but decided to take a chance on him because of the personal email. I signed up, and Matt went ahead and created my account even before he got the payment notification! I was very impressed with that, and the speed at which he replied to my first questions. So for my first impression, he gets a big thumbs up!

Support
My site is extremely small, as it's mainly used by me and a few friends as a sort of online harddrive so we can share pictures and other things easily with each other and play with php scripts, so I haven't needed much Support myself. The few times I've needed help I got timely replies, and always with solid answers with none of the stalling that I got from other companies. It doesn't stop here though! I've had the pleasure of sitting back and watching MJZ grow and add features. Matt has added several ways for us to get support even in the short 4 months I've been with him. He's added a nice Support Forum, and a new Ticket system. Matt also mantains an IRC channel so you can get help there too! As I quietly poke around I've been very pleased with all the work Matt does to provide his clients with support. Another big thumbs up.

Uptime
I registered with SiteUptime.Com right before I moved my site to Matt's servers. I wanted an easy way to report my uptime as accurately as I could so you all could see it. So to see the uptime for my site you can view: http://www.siteuptime.com/statistics.php?Id=15893&&UserId=13604 I am extremely pleased with the uptime you can see. It goes a bit deeper though! Recently Matt upgraded to a better server and transfered all of our accounts over. He said his goal was to have no downtime due to the move, and he has done an excellent job of keeping our sites online during the move. Once again I'm giving him a thumbs up.

Communication
The quality of commincation from Matt is great. He is a very honest and frank person, and I never feel like he's out with a pack of wool hoods I find it refreshing and comforting that my host will talk to me like a real person rather then giving me "Customer Service" responses that never answer anything. Matt lets his clients know exactly what is happening with the business and where it's going. Gives a wonderful sense of community that makes his service that much better.

Server
I don't have hard numbers since I'm not sure how to chart this. I can tell you pages respond quickly and I have quick load times when running php scripts. I formerly ran a few phpBB forums and I always had generation times of less then a second. File transfers go very quickly for me, and the ftp moves at a very nice pace. I've been very pleased with this, as I remember the "peak time lag" I had on my previous host. I haven't run into that problem with MJZ at all.

Features
This is more something I wanted to mention. I found my CPanel to be full of nice features I didn't have before. It was a nice little surprise for me to reading about the neat things I could do! Recently a few more features were added by Matt at no additional cost. This of course isn't a deal breaker when trying to pick a host but something I wanted to make note of.

Conclusion
At this point I couldn't be happier that I chose MJZ Hosting. I have even started mentioning MJZ to my friends when we talk about hosting. I've had an excellent almost 4 months with MJZ Hosting and do not regret moving to his servers. I plan to come back another 4 months down the road and update my review, and again when I hit the 1 year mark around Thanksgiving."

So many restrictions, I was cut off 4 times just by having a file named 'Winkeydisabler' which was just something for gamers that disabled the windows key in games. i started as a reseller for about $10/month. things went really well as the owner is very friendly and always responded quickly to my emails

my websites started to get really busy with time and there was a need for a dedicated server. he provided me with a full dedicated server for a great price.. he gave me lots of time to think about the issue and decide on whether i wanted to continue with him or not... all this time while my site was consuming so much of the resources

through out my stay with mjz i have had various issues between me and my website.. and although the average webhost couldnt have cared less... the owner of mjz was always very helpful. i have had some issues with mysql and he was there to help.. and even when i got hacked (becoz my personal mistake).. he was very quick to help and upload my back-ups

but whats really amazing is that at some point... he emailed me and told me about another plan that he can offer me.. that's actually MUCH better for my needs than the previous plan that i was on.. and actually 25% less expensive!

this was really great... here is a webhost that actually develops a great relation with his customers to the degree that he would know what might be better for u .. and as they say.. goes with u an extra step

what brought me to mjz at the beginning was low prices.. he continues to bring very low prices and excellent service... he told me he does it by looking very hard on the net to find best deals on servers.
